On 15 July 2016, Stranger Things was launched on Netflix and quickly became one of the most talked about television shows in recent memory. This wasn’t a cult show but a smashing mainstream success that appealed to viewers of all ages. The blend of science fiction, horror, prime Spielberg, and an affectionate brand of ’80s nostalgia was hard to resist. Stranger Things was most definitely must-watch television. News of Stranger Things spread rapidly through word of mouth and glowing reviews urging the reader to investigate this new series – especially if they loved the vintage work of Stephen King, John Carpenter and (of course) Steven Spielberg.
In this unauthorised and unofficial book James Forster celebrates and discusses all four seasons of Stranger Things and the fictional world it has created. Hopefully there will be some things in this book that even the most dedicated of Stranger Things fans might not have known. Let’s throw the curiosity door wide open, stick a doorstop underneath it, and explore the fantastical, thrilling, and frightening world of Stranger Things …

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
JAMES FORSTER
James Forster lives in Kent and has been a fan of horror films for as long as he can remember. As a consequence of this, writing a book about Stranger Things was what you might describe as an enjoyable labour of love. This is his first published book and he hopes to write more. His hobbies include daydreaming, occasionally contributing articles to boxing websites, and collecting graphic novels. James has such an uncanny ability to unintentionally attract stray cats he is seriously considering asking for any royalties to be paid in Whiskas.
