Further to the note about USA shipping, the Royal Mail has now added a ‘Duty’ calculator to their website and this shows that it seems there is no additional duty to send books, just an ‘admin fee’ that the Royal Mail are adding to every shipment to the USA.
So we have updated the postage rates on the Telos site to reflect this, and re-activated the ability for customers to order copies from the USA!
Which is great news! If the position changes in the future, then we’ll obviously rethink and react accordingly.
27 August 2025
Following the changes to the Tariff arrangements for mail going from the UK to the USA, and the removal by UK shipping companies of any option to actually send mail to the USA, we have as of today (Wednesday 27 August 2025) removed the ability of Customers to order books from the USA.
We will be reviewing this position, and as soon as we are able to ship to the USA again, then we will reinstate this. However at present it seems that the tariff costs need to be paid by the shipper, and we have no way of charging it back to the customer, so it might be that we simply cannot send to USA customers unless the country reviews and changes their processes to allow us to do so.
For any USA-based customers who have books on pre-order from us, we will be in touch closer to the time they are shipped. It may be that the issues will have been resolved by this time and we can send the books, or it might be that the customer will need to be refunded as we cannot ship them. Either way, any customer who is impacted and concerned can reach out to us at te*************@*****il.com and ask for a refund.
To be clear, if a Telos title is available on amazon.com, then this is fine. These copies are printed and shipped within the USA and so are unaffected by the changes to tariffs.
