Telos Publishing Newsletter
31 December 2015

Hi Everyone,

New Year’s Eve already! Doesn’t time fly.

Looking back, and I realise that we only sent out one of these email newsletters in 2015 … well we said we wouldn’t flood your inboxes! Despite the lack of newsletters, Telos has had a busy year with a lot of new titles published. So please treat this as a 2015 update … giving you the details of what we have done and hopefully some new books which you might like to look up for 2016.

The Telos website is, as ever: www.telos.co.uk, and until the end of January 2016 there is a 10% discount code active which will work on ANYTHING bought from the site (EXCEPT any pre-order titles which are not included in the sale) until the end of January 2016. So have a look, and pick up some bargains! The code is: jansale16

Here, then, is the list of titles that we published in 2015. There’s 29 new titles which is not bad at all. Add to that several titles (like, for example, STILL THE BEAST IS FEEDING, BY YOUR COMMAND Vols 1 & 2 and NOW ON THE BIG SCREEN) which have been republished as new paperback editions, plus the adding as e-editions of several other titles, and Telos has enjoyed a pretty successful year all told.

HORROR/DARK FANTASY/SCIENCE FICTION

CAPE WRATH & THE HELLION – Paul Finch (a celebratory re-issue, including a brand new short story, of Telos’ first ever fiction novella, from the author of the bestselling series of Crime novels featuring DS Heck.)

With a cover image by award winning science fiction and fantasy artist Jim Burns.)

KAT OF GREEN TENTACLES – Sam Stone (the latest in Sam’s brilliant Kat Lightfoot series of short novels. This time Kat is up against something nasty and tentacle, lurking in the basement of a school …)

So please have a look at your favourite e-book retailer’s site for anything which might be of interest.

COMING IN 2016

As usual we don’t like to announce titles too far ahead of publication as often last-minute delays can cause frustration among customers. However here is a selection of titles currently being worked on, which should see publication in 2016. As soon as work has been firmed up on them, then we will add them as pre-order titles onto the Telos website.

TIME OF THE DOCTOR: THE UNOFFICIAL AND UNAUTHORISED GUIDE TO DOCTOR WHO 2012-13 – Stephen James Walker (This latest guide from Steve covers the last days of Matt Smith’s Doctor, covering both his final full season, and the special fiftieth anniversary events and shows.) This title is currently available for pre-order on the Telos site in both paperback and limited, signed hardback editions.

THE CODEX – Helen McCabe (the final part in the ‘Piper’ trilogy of novels.) This title is currently available for pre-order on the Telos site.

JADED JEWEL – Sam Stone (the sixth book in the Vampire Gene series.) This title is currently available for pre-order on the Telos site.

WHEN LOVE RIDES OUT / THE HOUSE ON THE MOUNTAIN / A GARDEN FAIR / HIGHWAY OF FEAR – Helen McCabe (Four more of Helen’s superb romance novels.) These titles are currently available for pre-order on the Telos site.

JINX MAGIC – Sam Stone (The second in Sam’s Jinx Chronicles series, a science fiction/fantasy with aliens and portal travel, horror and the invasion of Earth. Unmissable entertainment.)

We also have waiting in the wings: the third of our Guides to the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest (By Gordon Roxburgh); two more of Juliette Benzoni’s series of historical romances (Catherine: Belle Catherine and Catherine: Her Great Journey); a guide to Transformers comics; a Survival Guide for Doctor Who; and a new collection of 26 tales from the late fantasy writer Tanith Lee as well as several other fiction and non-fiction titles. So there’s lots of good reasons to keep an eye on the Telos website in 2016.

TELOS ON FACEBOOK

If you’re on Facebook then please ‘Like’ Telos Publishing’s page: https://www.facebook.com/telospublishing/

Facebook has been steadily changing their algorhythms so that when we post things on the site, they are actually seen in the newsfeeds of less than 6% of the people who have liked the page. This doesn’t help us as a small business in trying to get news and awareness out there.

So if you see something you like on our page, then please LIKE it and comment on it if you’re moved to do so … but more importantly please SHARE it on your own page. In that way, the news gets spread more widely and people actually get to see what Telos is doing …

Also, if you have LIKED our page, then you also need to go to the little dropdown arrow beside where it says LIKED and check GET NOTIFICATIONS … then you stand a greater chance of seeing what we post in your own news feed in the first place.

Thanks to all our customers and friends for doing these things, it will really help us if you can help spread news and awareness of what Telos is doing

Please join and let us know what you think of the books, chat about the covers … anything that takes your fancy really.  Often new covers are premiered on the Facebook group, and news and details of reviews and other items of interest across the Web are also shared there.
