The new issue of Panini’s Doctor Who Magazine (number 396) reveals the results of their annual poll, and we’re delighted that THE TARGET BOOK has won in the ‘Other Doctor Who Books’ category.
The detailed results are:
THE TARGET BOOK – 21.8%
DOCTOR WHO ENCYCLOPEDIA – 20.6%
DOCTOR WHO CREATURES AND DEMONS – 15.5%
DOCTOR WHO ANNUAL 2008 – 12.3%
DOCTOR WHO THE VISUAL DICTIONARY – 7.9%
Others – 36.6%
It’s no mean feat to come top against titles published by the BBC themselves, especially considering the widespread distribution and immense sales that they enjoy, and we are really chuffed.
David J Howe, author of THE TARGET BOOK, said: ‘That book was a real labour of love from beginning to end, and risky for Telos to publish as, being in full colour throughout, it was a lot more expensive than the normal titles. From all the feedback we have had, and now in winning this poll, it’s great that readers appreciate our efforts and satisfying that nostaligia for those old novelisations is a shared love.’
